A big thankyou to all of you who have bought the Tortoise Diet Method book! I know it’s easy to buy books like this and although you might read them, they then go back on the shelf and become Shelf-help books rather than Self-help. Well I am interested in not just helping myself but helping all of you to reach your goals. I would love to see you create a firm foundation for a lifetime of health and success.
I have a series of courses coming up soon but the first one off the ranks I am calling Tortoise Diet Lite. It is designed to take some of the key practises of the book and getting you to apply them for the 4 weeks of the challenge and see what happens.
You have probably figured out by now that the concept behind the method has something to do with going slow and steady rather than our usual diet behaviour of jumping in and making a whole lot of changes too fast before crashing and burning and giving up. I spend a lot of time in the book talking about walking away from that sort of old yoyo diet behaviour and moving towards making small changes, repeated over time that eventually become habits. Then those habits help us to naturally bring us into line with the weight that works for us – without all the angst that goes with the old striving diet behaviour.
It’s those small but regular patterns of behaviour that give us the results we want. So to give you a taste of how it works, we will do make a small change each week for the four weeks of the month and you can get a chance to see the results. Essentially you will be given a new habit each week to implement daily which you will continue on after the challenge has finished of course! And don’t worry – the habits will not be too momentous – but just enough to effect change but not trigger your anti-diet response.
What is the first habit?
Oh alright – I’ll tell you what that is. One of the main “big” ideas in the book is that if we eat 3 normal nutritious meals a day and stop eating in between (apart from a nutritious snack if needed) then we will naturally get back into balance. I know this sounds a little bit crazy but here is your opportunity to try it and see. There is always going to be times when you need a treat so this is allowed for in the Tortoise Diet Method, but I am going to ask you to be very mindful of that for the purposes of this challenge. I’ll tell you more about that once you start the challenge but it is important to get his right.
How Does it work?
There will be a private facebook group and/or email-based course to start with. There is a workbook which you can download as soon as you can from the Files tab on the Group Page. If you have trouble with that let me know and I can email that link to you. You will need to print it off as it is not an interactive one. Once you have registered and paid I will send you the link to the page.
I will tell you what the first challenge is before the course begins to give you time to prepare, and then after that you will be given a new one each week.
How much does it cost?

Will I need to have read the book?
Yes – you won’t known about the key concepts unless you have read the book. I will be giving you chapters to reread for homework too. You can purchase your copy from Amazon or from me-which will make me happy as I get to know you as well. There will be a discount for you if you have signed up for the TDL Challenge and also wish to purchase the book.
So I will be giving you a bit of a summary of how it all works, plus give you the opportunity to start reading some of the chapters, and then test out the method for yourself! I will give you the link to the course and each week I will drop the next part of the challenge for you.
